FiiO M21 Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player

The FiiO M21 redefines the entry-level portable music player with performance and technologies inspired by FiiO’s flagship models. Featuring four CS43198 DAC chips, a fully balanced two-stage amplification architecture, the Snapdragon 680 platform, Android 13, and up to 950mW + 950mW of output power, the M21 delivers powerful, detailed, and refined sound in a compact design.

4 × CS43198 DACs – Powerful and Detailed Sound

The FiiO M21 features four CS43198 DAC chips, enabling an eight-channel fully differential output design. This architecture provides excellent dynamic performance, improved channel separation, and strong resistance to interference.

The headphone amplifier uses a two-stage circuit design. The first stage handles voltage amplification, while the second stage provides current amplification, helping the M21 deliver clean, detailed, and powerful sound across a wide range of headphones.

Four-Way Fully Balanced Amplifier Architecture

The fully balanced audio architecture is designed to maximize the potential of the four DAC chips while maintaining low distortion and excellent signal integrity.

Combined with carefully selected Hi-Fi components, the M21 delivers a refined listening experience with impressive dynamics and clarity.

Snapdragon 680 – Smooth and Efficient Performance

Powered by the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, the FiiO M21 provides excellent performance while maintaining low power consumption.

Together with Android 13, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, the platform ensures smooth operation when browsing music libraries, using streaming applications, or switching between different playback functions.

Patented Desktop Mode

For the first time in an entry-level FiiO music player, the M21 features a dedicated Desktop Mode.

When Desktop Mode is enabled, the player is powered entirely by an external power supply. The internal battery is neither charged nor discharged, helping to protect battery health during extended desktop use.

Portable and Desktop Dual Power Supply Modes

In portable mode, the M21 operates using its standard internal power supply.

When connected to an external power source, Super High Gain Mode becomes available. The player switches to a higher-voltage power supply capable of delivering a 21Vpp peak driving voltage at 300Ω and up to 950mW + 950mW at 32Ω through the balanced output.

This desktop-level power makes the M21 suitable for a wide range of earphones and full-size headphones.

Retro Cassette-Style Experience

The optional cassette-style protective case combines with an exclusive retro user interface and vintage-inspired sound effects to recreate the nostalgic feeling of the classic Walkman era.

Remove the case and the M21 seamlessly returns to its standard interface.

The cassette-style protective case is sold separately.

When using the cassette-style protective case, touchscreen operation is disabled and the player is controlled using the physical buttons.

Premium Aluminum and Glass Construction

The M21 features a full aluminum-alloy body combined with an AG frosted-glass back panel, giving the player a refined appearance and comfortable feel.

The display features an oleophobic coating that helps reduce fingerprints and smudges while providing smooth touchscreen operation.

Digital and Analog Partition Shielding

The digital and headphone amplifier sections are physically separated and equipped with independent shielding covers.

This design helps reduce signal crosstalk and interference while improving heat dissipation, contributing to cleaner and more accurate sound reproduction.

The digital and analog circuits use separate power supply paths to minimize interference between the two sections.

The analog circuitry is further divided into multiple independent power supplies for critical components such as the DACs and headphone amplifier.

High-End Hi-Fi Components

The M21 uses high-precision thin-film resistors and low-temperature-drift capacitors throughout its audio circuitry.

More than ten low-impedance, high-capacity tantalum capacitors are used around critical components such as the DAC and headphone amplifier, providing substantial energy reserves for powerful and dynamic sound reproduction.

5th-Generation FPGA and Dual Custom Femtosecond Crystal Oscillators

FiiO developed custom crystal oscillators specifically for the M21, carefully selected to meet femtosecond-level performance standards.

Combined with the 5th-generation FPGA, these high-precision, low-jitter clock sources accurately handle PCM and DSD audio signals across various sampling rates, ensuring precise digital audio reproduction.
