Designed to compliment Venere models 3.0, 2.5, 2.0, 1.5 and Wall with a center channel, Center for the realization of an complete Venere home theatre film sound or multichannel music system, Characterized by a design style that is in harmony with the other speakers in the Venere range, Center fits easily into diverse environments and delivering superb performance from the entire ensemble.

Recalling the Lyre shape of the other models that ensures no internal parallel surfaces exist, the enclosure is characterized by its curved walls which eliminates any detrimental internal resonances. The 1" fabric dome tweeter was designed by Sonus faber and delivers an exceptional wide dispersion of sound, while providing natural timbre and very detailed sound without creating listener fatigue. The front baffle of Center secures 2 active 6" mid-woofers with Curv(tm) cones. The baffle is set apart by its curved lines which produce a decidedly lively sound with perfectly coherent integration between the driver and the cabinet. The front baffle is also identified by its two front ports - a design solution that allows for flexible placement in the home theater environment as it can be place near a wall without any port "chuffing" effect.

The Center is immediately identified as a member of the Venere range thanks to its complimentary shape and black or white lacquer finish that perfectly matches the other Venere models. A real wood Walnut finish is available at a slight upcharge. A wooden base cradle is included allowing for fine-tuning of its angle, so that the sound can be propagated according to the specific needs the surround-sound system.

This careful selection of materials and strict quality control during production ensures the sound quality, cosmetic appearance and durability of the speaker.

Design

The construction of the acoustic chamber is of great importance to the tonal balance of a loudspeaker. Sonus faber has always been a leader in the development of cabinet shapes and proportions that guarantee exceptional control of internal resonances, driver stability and create an ideal acoustic environment. It was a natural choice that the Venere series to be inspired by the shape of the Lyre. Applied to the form of a speaker, it ensures the absence of parallel internal surfaces, controls air movement inside the cabinet that creates sound that is dynamic, clean, rich in musical detail yet at the same time, highly natural in tone. The successful realization of our sonic requirements and the balance of form and function drove Venere's overall design aesthetic.

The crossover and the driver

Sonus faber is confident that in the end, the best assessment of our design choices is listening with the human ear. This has always been a key principle that has driven the design of our products since the founding of the company. In the research phase, each component is conceived and designed with these criteria in mind. The world's best driver manufacturers craft all Venere drive units to Sonus faber's specific requirements and additional optimizations are carried out during the manufacturing phase providing further enhancements prior to final assembly. Extreme care is taken in the design of the crossover network in an effort to meet our high standards since choices regarding the type of network and component parts combined with the drivers, are fundamental to the sonic performance of the speaker. So while the Venere series is designed using specialized computer software, in the final phase of their development, everything is perfected and reviewed by ear, because the ultimate goal of Sonus faber is to deliver the satisfaction and emotion of music listening.
