Can-Am Spyder (2020): motorcycle sound system
What we did
We built a custom high-end sound system for this CANAM SPYDER motorcycle, focused on powerful, high-quality sound while riding in the open air.
Work carried out:
- A dedicated bass reflex subwoofer enclosure was built: the bottom of the storage compartment was cut out so that the bass is directed outwards through the bottom. We also made custom water splash guards, a debris filter and a stainless steel mesh grille.
- All speaker mounting locations were treated with vibration damping so the system plays cleanly, without rattles, even at high volume.
- The amplifiers were installed on two levels, and the whole system is controlled by a processor that lets every speaker run actively from its own channel. This makes it possible to tune the frequency response very precisely and achieve exactly the sound a high-end audio system calls for.
Installed equipment:
- Helix Compose Ci7 T20FM-SC, tweeters
- Helix Compose Ci7 W130-S3, 180W, 13 cm midbass speakers
- Hertz SP 4.900, 4-channel car amplifier, 1000W
- Hertz SP 1.900, mono car amplifier, 1000W
- Audison APK 130, component speakers, 225W
- Ground Zero GZHW 20XSPL-D2, car subwoofer
- DLS Performance PS4.110, 4-channel amplifier
- Helix DSP.3S, 8-channel car DSP processor
- Plus other accessories
Result: a solid, powerful and precisely tuned sound system that sounds great while riding.
