Power cords

It is a reliable power source for your audio system. High-quality cables ensure stable power supply, low losses and safe operation, so that audio equipment works efficiently and without interference. A properly selected power cable is a prerequisite for obtaining strong, clear and clean sound from an amplifier or other audio equipment.

Power cables in cars are usually used to connect amplifiers, voltage converters or other equipment. The required cross-sectional area of the power cable depends on the required current and the length of the cable. Main cable diameters 10, 16, 25, 35, 50 mm2. Quality power cables are made from very thin strands and OFC-type copper. Which will ensure good permeability and resistance to atmospheric effects.

The thickness of the power cables used to connect car amplifiers can vary depending on the specific requirements of the amplifier and the power needs of the audio system. Generally, car audio power wire gauges range from 4 to 0 gauge (AWG), with a higher gauge meaning a thicker wire.

A conversion of AWG to millimeters can be used to provide a specific measurement in millimeters. The table below shows the approximate diameter range in millimeters for each gauge:

Number (AWG) Diameter (mm)
4 5.19
2 6.54
1 7.35
0 8.25
Therefore, a 4-gamut power cord would have a diameter of approximately 5.19 mm, a 2-gamut power cord would have a diameter of approximately 6.54 mm, a 1-gamut power cord would have a diameter of approximately 7.35 mm, and a 0-gamut power cord would have a diameter of approximately 8.25 mm.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
