Mercedes-Benz S COUPE: sound system

For this MB S Coupe we created a custom, powerful and neatly integrated sound system, keeping the original interior design and making the most of the car's acoustic potential.

Work carried out

• Built a band pass subwoofer enclosure, mounted in the boot
• The bass system is designed so that all of the sound pressure is directed straight into the cabin through the armrest
• A custom acoustic fabric grille was made in the armrest, which stays unnoticeable even when the armrest is opened
• The amplifiers were installed in the boot, next to the original battery:

  -HELIX DSP
  -Ground Zero 3 kW monoblock
  

• At the front we installed Focal (10 cm) components
• Focal KX 16.5cm woofers were integrated in the footwells, providing rich and controlled low frequency reproduction
• Custom pods were made in the A-pillars and covered in Alcantara identical to the original pillar trim

Result

After the work, the S Coupe has a very powerful, precisely balanced and visually unnoticeable sound system, where strong bass is combined with high sound quality and the original interior style is fully preserved.
