Matrix mixing allows for summing and input/output signal management. Fully adjustable high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filters, plus 31-band equalizers on each channel match the sound to your speakers and smooth out any hot spots or dips in the response due to your vehicle's interior. The delay feature lets you center the stereo image for your listening position. After initial setup using your PC device , all adjustments can be made automatically using the PXE-C80-88's control app on your iPhone using its built-in mic, or with your PC using a separate measurement microphone , like the Alpine KTX-CSP1. PC users can make all the sound adjustments manually to create a more personalized soundscape.
While the PXE-C80-88 can act as a stand-alone processor for use with your own aftermarket amplifiers, its built-in 8-channel amp has plenty of power to run your system. It puts out six channels of 35 Watts RMS each to speakers with 4 Ohm impedances or 70 Watts RMS each to speakers with 2 Ohm impedances — so it'll work equally well with factory and aftermarket speakers — plus two channels that can each produce 130 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms or 260 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms, to power louder mid-bass drivers and subwoofers.

The built-in amplifier boasts 35W x 6 @ 4Ω + 130W x 2 @4Ω or 70W x 6 @2Ω + 260W x 2@ 2Ω, being able to power a full sound system. Digital inputs include Coax and USB (DAC) while a high-level speaker input of up to 26V allows the OPTIM8 to connect to a factory amplifier.

The Alpine OPTIM8 removes all the complexities of tuning a sound system by providing a simple, self-guided process via the OPTIM iPhone App (iPhone/iPad) or PC Software with the KTX-CSP1 External Mic kit (sold separately) to quickly and precisely measure your vehicle's interior. Alpine's Auto-EQ, powered by Eilex PRISM™ and VIR Filters, simplifies the sound tuning process. It provides on-screen instructions, so the user can easily make a precise measurement of the car's system. After the measurement, the PC Software's or OPTIM iPhone App's graphical tuning interface provides real-time results so that users can quickly and intuitively perfect their system's audio. During the measurement process, the user moves the optionally available KTX-CSP1 tuning-microphone (or iPhone) throughout the car's cabin, capturing hundreds of measurement points. The Auto-EQ process is intelligent enough to ignore outlier information. The result is a consistent and highly objective analysis of the car's system every time.

The included 3-meter high-quality cable ensures balanced signal and power for the mic, and lets you move the mic to different locations when tuning your OPTIM8 system.
Universal Wiring Harness and Adapter
The optionally available KWE-PXE8-UNI is a universal wiring harness with Quadlock connectors, supporting the installation of the Alpine OPTIM8 for example in Volkswagen group, BMW and Mercedes Benz vehicles with Quadlock radio connectors. There is also an optionally available Quadlock ISO to Standard ISO adapter (KWE-FR1AU) available to support installations.
