The R2-S653 is the top model of the new 2022 R-Series speakers. The package includes:  16.5 cm door woofer, 9.6 cm midrange speaker and 4.3 cm tweeter, reproducing frequencies up to 40 kHz.

Fiberglass reinforced cone

The door woofer and midrange speaker feature brand new fiberglass-reinforced cones. This material is very stiff and extremely light, resulting in extremely fast response and extremely accurate music reproduction .

In PRO models (R2-S635 and R2-S652 ) use high-quality aluminum housings, making them very rigid and able to hold heavier magnets without deformation. This allowed our engineers to fit larger magnets than in previous generation speakers (while maintaining the same mounting depth).

Hi-Res Audio certified Hard Dome tweeter

All-new magnesium hard-dome tweeters deliver clear and detailed music reproduction and play up to 40 kHz (Hi-Res Audio). You can mount them in a threaded housing (for example, in a door panel) or use the included brackets for mounting on the dashboard. The tweeters can be rotated within the housing to point them directly at your favorite location.

Flexible PRO X-Over Network

Tweeter, easily adaptable for installation in factory speaker locations

You can simply remove the R-Series tweeter mounting frame and trim ring to reduce its overall size and diameter. Then the tweeter itself is small enough to fit into many OEM tweeter locations (inside the pillars, in the mirror triangles, or in the door trim) for stealth installation.

Adjustable PRO X-Over

This large-size high-pass filter contains many high-quality components selected for the best sound quality. You can adjust the midrange speaker level to -3dB / 0dB / +3dB, and the tweeter level to -3dB / 0dB / +3dB.

HAMR ring

Alpine's HAMR ( High-Amplitude Multi-Roll) speaker ring allows for maximum cone movement while maintaining excellent control. This results in strong bass at high volumes without distortion.

New speaker grilles

The new hexagonal design of the speaker grilles looks very aggressive and does not increase the overall diameter of the speaker mounting.
