Originally dubbed "The Beast," the 9900 series subwoofers first hit the market in the early 2000s. After a brief hiatus, they are back and more powerful than ever. The latest version was developed in response to the recent explosion of ultra-low frequency music. These subwoofers were designed for long-term power handling, precision, and high excursion. They have been optimized for a power band of 1500 – 2500 W, with the ability to withstand bursts of up to 10,000 W. One look at the 9900 motor shows why we call it a beast. It features a 3-inch magnet stack, over 10″ OD, and weighs 70 pounds (motor only). The traditionally narrow DD magnet gap drives a 4″ flat-wound aluminum voice coil to an X-max exceeding 3 inches, maintaining enough windings in the gap to ensure power and control.
