DD Audio CXS coaxial speakers are designed to fit into challenging door panels. There’s no longer a need to sacrifice sound quality in shallow OEM applications. The CXS coaxials utilize the same woofer and tweeter from our CS component sets that are consistently installed in applications where concentric mounting is desired.
Our dedication to sound quality starts with precision-built motor assemblies. Machined magnet gaps, driven by high-energy strontium magnets, provide powerful sound from a compact design. We incorporate distortion-reducing shorting rings to control flux and inductance.
The midrange woofer cones are rigid, cellulose-based, with an acoustic treatment applied to the front to reduce cone breakup and provide water/moisture resistance. The compressed rubber surrounds are optimized for light weight to increase sensitivity.
On the tweeter side, we have our T2. The T2 is a 25mm tweeter that utilizes a high-energy neodymium magnet system to deliver high sensitivity in limited applications. The diaphragm material is an ultra-thin, semi-transparent composite material formed into a hyperbolic dome to increase geometric strength while keeping mass to a minimum. A phase plug linearizes the frequency response while enhancing off-axis outputs. They come equipped with metallized polypropylene capacitors hardwired to the tweeter for added protection when the volume is high.
