SL600 series subwoofers, featuring the DD Audio HI-DEF SL612 12″ (30cm) flat subwoofer, have a very shallow mounting depth, and their suspensions are tuned to perform optimally in sealed and small bass-reflex enclosures.
To ensure high power handling, good cooling, and high excursion, SL600 subwoofers are equipped with 2.5-inch high-temperature voice coils, 72-ounce magnets, rear plate coil ventilation, and an EROM surround.
One of the unique features of the SL600 is its three-layer, low-profile diaphragm cone. By sandwiching a foam layer between two cellulose layers, the cone remains as light and rigid as a standard cone, yet flat enough to allow a suspension travel equal to that of a full-size subwoofer.
