DESCRIPTION
Denon is one of the rare audio brands that continues to actively develop Hi-Fi components, accumulating, perfecting, and transmitting Hi-Fi audio technologies. The DCD-1600NE focuses on the essence of disc players: ultra-high-precision disc scanning and feeding high-quality audio signals to the amplifier. To achieve this, the signal path is shortened as much as possible and the entire cycle is made as small as possible. Engineers have also redesigned the disc mechanism bracket and chassis to eliminate vibration, the biggest enemy of a disc player, and ensure extremely vibration-resistant operation. Information on the disc is now read with impeccable accuracy, and the high-quality signal is fed to the DCD-1600NE's advanced AL32 Processing Plus circuit. In addition to CD and Super Audio CD playback, the DCD features audio playback of up to PCM192/24 or DSD5.6 recorded DVD R/RW discs, for complete flexibility and greater access to high-resolution audio.

Advanced AL32 Processing Plus
The DCD-1600NE uses AL32 Processing Plus, the latest version of Denon's analog signal reproduction technology, which uses unique data interpolation algorithms and also supports high-resolution audio sources. These algorithms interpolate points that should exist before and after points in large amounts of data, achieving a smooth, as close to the original signal as possible. By carefully reconstructing the data that was lost during digital recording, the final sound is highly accurate, free of distortion, precisely localized, richly expressive in the lower range, and faithful to the original sound.
New original Denon turntable design
The DCD-1600NE turntable design incorporates a high-end SVH mechanism. The circuitry that is responsible for reading and decoding signals read from the disc has been updated. The signal path has been shortened to a minimum and the circuitry has been reduced to eliminate additional noise.
The SVH Loader is a hybrid design that combines different materials, which gives the drive such stability that the disc can be read with the highest accuracy. In addition, the low center of gravity of this mechanism dampens any vibration caused by the rotation of the disc inside the mechanism, and the structure of the mechanism also effectively dampens external vibration. By eliminating unwanted vibration, reducing unnecessary control and power consumption, digital signals from the disc can be read with optimal accuracy under stable conditions.
DSD data disc playback support
In addition to CDs and Super Audio CDs, the DCD-1600NE can play DSD (2.8 MHz/5.6 MHz) files and high-resolution files up to 192 kHz/24 recorded on DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs. Music files with a sampling frequency of up to 48 kHz recorded on CD-R/RW discs can also be played.
Direct Mechanical
Grounding Structure
The integrity of musical signals is compromised when they are subjected to internal vibration caused by the rotation of the disc or the power transformer, or by airborne vibration caused by the sound being transmitted through the speakers. To counter this effect, Denon engineers have developed a vibration-damping design called Direct Mechanical Ground Construction. In this design, the power transformers, which are themselves the source of the vibration, are placed at the bottom of the DCD-1600NE, where unwanted vibration is directed directly to the ground and has no effect on the nearby circuitry. In addition, by placing the drive mechanism - the part with the most mass - low in the center of the chassis, the low center of gravity effectively suppresses internal vibration caused by the rotation of the disc, and also protects the mechanism from external vibration.
DAC Master Clock Design
To precisely synchronize the digital circuits, the DCD-1600NE DAC Master Clock Design follows the DAC when clock signals are provided. Placing the master clock next to the D/A converter (DAC) suppresses jitter and ensures optimal accuracy in D/A conversion. In addition, the quality of the clock, which is related to the semiconductor process, is crucial to ensuring that the digital audio circuit performs at a high level. Thus, the DCD-1600NE features a clock oscillator so that the phase noise that is responsible for frequency offset is significantly reduced. The clock power circuit has also been significantly improved to bring out the full potential of the high-quality clock performance. A conductive polymer capacitor with particularly unique high-frequency impedance characteristics for Denon's renowned sound quality has been placed at the base of the clock power supply, and an ultra-compact film capacitor, which is different from a laminated ceramic capacitor, has been placed next to the clock to achieve improved S/N ratio and transparent sound with the highest spatial expression. The DCD-1600NE is equipped with two clock generators, one for each sampling frequency (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz), which can be switched between frequencies with careful suppression of jitter.
Schematic with reduced signal paths;
separate power transformers
A philosophy of simplicity and clarity of design has been carefully implemented throughout the DCD-1600NE's circuitry. The circuit designs have been redesigned from the ground up to keep signal paths as short as possible and ensure that the original sound is accurately reproduced across the audio spectrum. As a result, interference between circuits and between left and right channels, as well as unwanted influences on audio signals, have been reduced to a minimum, reproducing precise, highly transparent sound. In addition, the power supply units for the digital and analog circuits, whose signals have different characteristics, have separate transformers to eliminate mutual interference and noise. The aluminum plate has also been bonded to the steel transformer base to enhance rigidity.
