Advanced "Extra High Current" MOS Transistor
In a push-pull circuit
The amplifier features advanced UHC (Ultra High Current)-MOS technology, which uses a minimum number of high current amplifier elements to balance the sound of speakers and improve sound quality.
The advanced UHC-MOS is an ideal amplifier with power delivery performance superior to that of bipolar transistors and incorporating the advantages of audio quality MOS-FETs. The advanced UHC-MOS is presented in a single two-stage configuration that eliminates distortion in the amplification circuit and balances high power with fine detail. This circuit masterfully reproduces the full sonic range, from subtle musical nuances to powerful climaxes in rich musical expressions.
Advanced AL32 Processing Plus supporting 384-kHz/32-bit PCM formats
For digital input, the PMA-1600NE uses AL32 Processing Plus, Denon's latest analog signal reproduction technology, which uses unique data conversion algorithms and also supports high-resolution 384-kHz/ 32-bit PCM signals.
These algorithms add points that should exist before and after the points in large amounts of data to achieve a smooth sound as close as possible to a studio recording. By carefully restoring data that was lost during digital recording, the final sound is highly accurate, distortion-free, precisely localized, expressive in the lower range, and faithful to the original recording.
USB-DAC supporting 11.2-MHz
DSD and 384-kHz/32-bit PCM
The PMA-1600NE provides USB-DAC functions that support high-resolution 11.2-MHz DSD and 384-kHz/32-bit PCM input signals. DSD transfer methods are based on ASIO native playback and DSD Audio over PCM Frames (DoP). Since asynchronous transmission is controlled by the PMA-1600NE's precise clock rather than the computer's clock, there is no jitter in the transmission. The D/A converter used in the PMA-1600NE is the same 384-kHz/32-bit and DSD capable high-end DAC used in the DCD-1600NE for clean, high-quality sound.
The layout of the 6-block inner tier and
Construction of Mechanical Grounding
The PMA-1600NE is configured in six independent units that include a phono correction amplifier and input circuit, an audio control circuit, a USB-DAC chip, an amplifier circuit, a power section, and a control section. The case is made of 1.0mm thick steel sheets, which protect the signal circuits from external vibration and eliminate the negative effects of mutual circuits. The power amplifier circuit was placed in the center of the PMA-1600NE. With openings on both sides, this well-balanced design is perfectly positioned to prevent unwanted vibrations from affecting sound quality. In addition, the legs that support the heavy power transformer, the radiators, and the weight of the entire amplifier are made of ABS.
Digital signal isolation circuit and analog mode
The PMA-1600NE is equipped with a high-speed digital signal isolation circuit to eliminate the negative influence on sound quality caused by digitally transmitted signals. Since the data is transferred magnetically through the coils embedded in the IC chip, the input and output sides are electrically isolated. By isolating the signal line between the digital audio circuit and the D/A converter, unwanted noise in the analog audio circuit after the D/A converter is eliminated. During analog audio playback, analog mode can be used to turn off the power assigned to the digital power supply and completely stop the digital input circuitry from affecting the analog circuit. Analog mode also disables the fluorescent display, allowing the PMA-1600NE to operate as a purely analog amplifier (during analog mode, USB-B, coaxial digital, and optical digital inputs are disabled).
MM / MC Phono Equalizer
The PMA-1600NE phono equalizer supports both MM and MC turntable heads. This Phono equalizer has a lot of benefits, and like the power circuit, it can cause unwanted effects on the sound quality. The Simple and Straight circuit design is a notable improvement. On the PMA-1600NE, the MM/MC toggle button has been replaced, allowing the delicate analog signal to be amplified for even better sound quality.
Remote system controller and
clear view of the front screen
The PMA-1600NE comes with a system remote control, which can also be used to control the DCD-1600NE and other Denon CD players. The low-noise FL display on the front panel of the product provides all the necessary information.
