The MODEL 30 is built on a separate circuit board, the Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM. By custom-engineering hundreds of individual parts rather than adopting a conventional solution, the MODEL 30 HDAM significantly outperforms standard integrated circuits to create the unparalleled musicality you've always expected from Marantz.

The MODEL 30 maintains the purest possible sound and maintains the power required to drive the most demanding speakers. The MODEL 30 amplifier output stage provides high power, generating 2x100W into an 8 ohm load and easily handling low impedance speakers, with 2 x 200W output into 4 ohms. Since the feedback is taken after the output filter coil in this switching amplifier design, the output frequency response remains the same and is not affected by the impedance of the connected speaker. This ensures the loudest sound, regardless of the speakers. The amplifier module is directly connected to the MODEL 30 rear panel PCB to shorten and maintain the signal path, purity, and stability.

In addition to phono and CD analog inputs, the MODEL 30 has two line inputs and a pair of recorder input/output jacks, allowing you to connect multiple sources and recorders. Use the MODEL 30 as a standalone stereo power amplifier to add to your system configuration using the included direct power amplifier input. For example, use the front outputs of your AV setup and run them through the MODEL 30 power amplifiers.

Designed to deliver optimum sound quality by simplifying the signal path – crucial given the delicate nature of phono signals – the MODono 30’s Phono EQ stage can be used with both moving magnet and low-power moving coil cartridges, as it also includes an MC head amplifier. The design minimises distortion, so the equaliser stage uses two-stage amplification, combining a Marantz HDAM with a JFET in the input stage, providing high input impedance. This further simplifies the influence of negative feedback, bypassing coupling capacitors, thereby reducing distortion and improving signal purity.

To maximize the sound when using a moving coil (MC) or moving magnetic (MM) cartridge, and to accommodate all configurations as much as possible, the MODEL 30 features a built-in input impedance selector. The input impedance can be adjusted to three different settings: MC LOW (33 ohms), MC MID (100 ohms), and MC HIGH (390 ohms).

Like its counterpart, the SACD 30n streaming CD player, the MODEL 30 integrated amplifier is designed to the highest standards. The robust chassis is constructed from thick, heavy, non-magnetic aluminum plates and a solid steel top cover to prevent additional interference. Robust, brass-finished independent input connectors for CD and Phono plus Marantz original high-quality/high-purity nickel-plated speaker terminals ensure the best possible signal.
