Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG - audio system, partial soundproofing

For this project, a top-level active sound system was developed, focused on maximum sound pressure, precise control, and exceptional sound quality in the cabin.

Work completed

  • 4 JBL two-channel amplifiers installed
  • The entire system is configured as active, using the HELIX DSP ULTRA sound processor
  • BRAX tweeters are mounted on specially made podiums at the front
  • BRAX midrange integrated into the struts, ensuring a precise soundstage
  • Two pairs of JBL 15 cm speakers are installed in the doors for powerful and dynamic reproduction of mid and low frequencies
  • Made Band Pass type bass box with two 15 inch woofers
  • The entire bass box is designed to direct sound pressure from the trunk directly into the cabin through the "sliding armrest"
  • Processor controller mounted on the front, in place of the cup - for convenient and quick control
  • Doors have been soundproofed, improving speaker performance and reducing resonances

Result

After the work was completed, the CL 65 AMG received an extremely powerful, precisely controlled and high-class sound system that ensures both an exceptional sound stage in the front and maximum bass pressure in the cabin - without compromising on comfort and aesthetics, as befits a powerful car.
