It's built to handle up to 500W RMS, capable of delivering impressive low frequencies. This subwoofer features an injection-molded polypropylene IMPP™ cone enriched with aramid fibers, ensuring exceptional accuracy and strength. A butyl rubber surround supports the subwoofer during cone excursion, reducing low-frequency distortion even when the music is played loud.
IMPP D-Series
Polypropylene (PP) is a durable thermoplastic resin, an ideal material for a speaker cone. The low weight and high damping of a PP cone generate good sensitivity and low distortion. However, polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high performance and extreme low frequencies. To address this, Pioneer engineers used advanced computer manufacturing to create a process that allows aramid fibers to be blended with polypropylene resin during injection molding.
