To reproduce music with enhanced spatial expression, it is necessary that the sound wave fronts reflected by the speaker unit are aligned, regardless of the listening position. The point source concept is one of the best ways to achieve this.
To achieve point-to-point reproduction of the sound source, a coaxial configuration was created, and then combined with an original-shaped linear phase plug for phase matching and a smooth-flow diaphragm, shaped with a shallow diaphragm and smooth edge to minimize sound reflection. The result is a spherical wave and aligned wavefronts of the reflected sound.
The SB-C600 2-way coaxial speaker delivers clear sound image localization and smooth, emotional high-quality sound, while maintaining the point source and linear phase concepts that Technics has relentlessly pursued.

The original shaped acoustic plug is located on the front side of the tweeter diaphragm and ensures high-resolution sound reproduction and a wide sound stage.

If a sound wave encounters irregularities on a sound-transmitting surface, the wavefront is disrupted by the irregular shapes, resulting in a deterioration in frequency response. High frequencies, which have short wavelengths, are more susceptible to sound degradation. The woofer diaphragm in a coaxial speaker is shallow in shape and has a smooth edge to reduce sound reflection. The result is minimal disruption to the sound wavefront reflected by the diaphragm, ensuring flawless frequency response, phase response, and wide directivity.
This configuration produces a wide sound, as well as smooth and rich mids and highs.

The conventionally shaped Bass Reflex port creates a large air vortex that emits annoying high-frequency noise. Technics has adapted the airflow control method used in airplane wings and created a cross-sectional port using flow analysis. The port's optimally designed shape does not obstruct the airflow at the port, ensuring high-quality bass reproduction, minimal noise, and flawless response.

It completely eliminates unwanted noise and reproduces only the necessary sounds with an extremely high signal-to-noise ratio. The “Balanced Drive Mounting Architecture” used in the high-end SB-G90M2 has been optimized for this model using CAE (computer-aided engineering). In addition, a newly designed speaker mounting baffle has been developed that connects the speaker parts to reinforce the durability of the entire cabinet. The combination of these factors increases the advantages of the center of gravity of the mounting structure. The rigidity and shape of each part of the coaxial speaker system have been carefully studied to eliminate unnecessary vibration and noise.

To reproduce a smooth, low-distortion sound, the SB-C600 uses speaker mounting baffles that were developed by optimizing the low-resonance, robust design concept of the SB-G90M2 using CAE.
The original shape of the speaker mounting baffle controls the concentration of fatigue. The speaker mounting baffle sufficiently reinforces the ventilation holes to ensure smooth reproduction of sound reflected from the rear walls of the speaker and to improve the response while maintaining low resonance and rigidity. In addition, this structure reduces the vibration of the entire cabinet, while minimizing the impact on other equipment.
