The latest coreless direct drive motor manages to ensure extremely precise and stable rotation
The technologies developed in the SL-1200 series and the high-quality SL-1000R have been incorporated into the motor unit, the main part of the turntable. The motor uniquely combines a single-rotor, coreless direct drive motor, adopted for the SL-1200GR, to ensure high rotational accuracy and accurate reading of recorded signals. The motor is optimally controlled thanks to the inertial mass of the two-layer construction of the platter on which the record is placed. The entire rear surface of the platter is covered with damping rubber to eliminate unwanted resonance and rotational irregularities called hooking in the cast aluminum platter.

Accurately reading signals from the plate grooves
The pickup is a statically balanced universal S-shaped pickup, another Technics tradition. Adopting a high-precision bearing, the same as the gimbal structure and housing of the SL-1200 series, high initial sensitivity is achieved. The die-cast aluminum housing is rigidly integrated with a special material consisting of ABS mixed with fiberglass to achieve a two-layer construction. The isolator consists of a spring and rubber to ensure optimal vibration damping properties.

Audiophile-grade head mounted
The SL-100C comes pre-installed with the Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge, so you can listen to your favorite tunes in high quality without having to make many adjustments. The height of the pickup can be easily adjusted in 6mm intervals, allowing you to use a variety of other cartridges.

Auto-lift function reduces wear on plates and needle
When the cartridge reaches the end of the record, the auto-lift function automatically lifts the head. This prevents unnecessary wear on the vinyl record and the stylus. The integrated auto-lift function protects the cartridge from shocks. Thanks to its simple design, which does not use motor power, there is no electrical or vibrational influence on the cartridge movement. This function was included in response to user requests, while maintaining the highest focus on sound quality. The SL-100C turntable remains easy to operate thanks to its minimal features.
