Technics SL-G700M2, smart sound amplifier with network player

The SL-G700M2 is equipped with a high-precision sequential D/A converter, which is the result of a combination of these technologies, and which converts digital values ​​into analog signals with extreme precision and outputs them to the amplifier. It consists of (1) sequential processing, (2) a high-performance dual monaural configuration D/A converter, and (3) a proprietary discrete amplifier circuit.
The dual ESS ES9026PRO is a newly applied DAC chip. The symmetrical arrangement of the L/R devices, one on each side, and their independent transmission structures reduce mutual interference and accurately reproduce the sound and image and musical space contained in the sound source.
The post-S/A filter circuit uses an amplifier circuit with a unique discrete configuration instead of the amplifier's operational integrated circuit, resulting in even higher sensitivity and sound-to-noise ratio, and the reproduction of even the most subtle sounds.

Technics' new patented sequential processing technology improves the reproduction of pulse signals by reducing the amplitude and phase deviations that occur during the S/A conversion process, converting up to 192 kHz PCM signals using patented signal processing technology*. This processing results in clearer sound and clearer sound and picture.

Digital audio players that process small signals require careful noise suppression, as even the slightest noise can significantly affect sound quality. The multi-stage silent power supply provides thorough noise suppression through three stages: (1) a fast switching power supply, (2) a low-noise regulator, and (3) current injection active noise cancellation.
The SL-G700M2 uses an approximately 300 kHz high-speed switching power supply, which is also used for the analog circuits of the SU-R1000 reference-class integrated amplifiers. By increasing the switching frequency, noise interference within the music playback bandwidth is reduced, creating a power supply with very sensitive response.
In addition, the low-noise regulator ensures high-level low noise and stable power supply. All this is achieved by precisely matching the circuit configurations.

This newly developed technology, current injection active noise cancellation, eliminates unwanted noise components by applying an inverse-phase current to the detected noise. Even more effective current noise rejection can be achieved by applying a push-pull method combined with the conventional noise rejection method of current injection.

The SL-G700M2 supports Super Audio CD playback, which is a high-quality audio disc format. To further enhance the quality, a Pure Disc Playback mode is available for playback of Super Audio CD or CD. This model also supports MQA and can fully decode MQA files and MQA-CD playback. A variety of other high-resolution formats are also supported, including WAV/AIFF, FLAC/ALAC and DSD file playback.
In addition, the SL-G700M2 is equipped with a new USB-B port, enabling continuous connection to a network audio server or computer to play back high-resolution audio sources from the connected device.

The SL-G700M2 supports Google Cast™, enabling a wide range of music streaming from Google Chromecast-enabled apps and AirPlay 2. It also supports Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® wireless connections.*

The SL-G700M2 is divided into four sections – the power supply, digital interface, analog circuitry and turntable sections – which operate independently of each other. This blocks mutual interference between the circuits and reduces sound quality degradation. The turntable features a three-layer block configuration. Powerful vibration damping and a quiet construction, including a die-cast aluminum turntable, ensure high-precision disc playback.
The exterior features a slim finish line, a 7mm thick aluminum front panel and 3mm thick aluminum side panels, and an engraved Technics logo for a distinctive high-quality design and finish.
