INFORMACIJA
We recommend using: Noise Protection PROFI Vibrofiltr 2mm Sound Insulation
This is a vibration-damping material. The material is made of elastomer-modified bitumen with a polyethylene film layer and an adhesive layer protected by non-stick paper. The polyethylene film prevents adhesion to the gluing roller during installation and ensures easy installation of the material.
- Thickness: 2.0 mm
- Mechanical loss factor: 0.12
- Weight: 2.7 kg/m2
- Adhesion to metal: 6 N/cm
- Sheet size: 800x500mm
DESCRIPTION
When installing an additional insulation layer, it is recommended to remove the protective polyethylene film from the insulation before proceeding with further work.
Material mechanical loss factor - 0.12. What is it?
The car body resonates – emits vibrations – when driving or simply when the engine is running. Ideally, the body surface materials should absorb vibrations and convert them into thermal energy. The mechanical loss factor, MLF, indicates how much vibrational energy is converted into thermal energy. Driving comfort depends on this. If the MLF is 1 – this is the maximum result, all vibrational energy is converted into thermal energy. If MLF <1, the sound and vibration absorption properties of the material are worse. When choosing an insulating material, you should pay attention to this number. A higher number is better.
Why is it worth trying sound insulation materials?
When driving a car, extraneous noises are heard and vibrations are felt. This noise is not only unpleasant, but can also cause serious health problems. Sound insulation materials help solve this. They provide additional comfort during the trip. Less vibration is felt while driving, squeaks caused by parts touching each other are not heard, and extraneous noise from the street or engine compartment does not interfere. It becomes easier to communicate in the car, you get less tired, nothing distracts your attention while driving. Since these materials also act as thermal insulation, it is easier to start the engine in winter, and the interior freezes less. Almost the entire car body can be covered with insulating materials, thus ensuring the greatest effect.
Recommended: car arches, body and trunk floor, engine-cabin partition from the cabin side.
