The Yamaha NS-555 3-way floor-standing speaker, featuring dual 6.5″ woofers, a 5″ midrange driver, and a 1″ aluminum dome tweeter, boasts a highly oriented polyolefin construction for improved transient response, higher power handling, and a smoother frequency response.
Highly Oriented Polyolefin (HOP)
Better material for better sound. The dynamic range of Dolby Digital soundtracks places stringent demands on the speakers that reproduce it. That's why an exclusive speaker cone material was developed: Highly Oriented Polyolefin (HOP). It's incredibly rigid, yet unbelievably light (up to 30 times stronger, weight for weight, than polypropylene). You get dynamic sound with low distortion and superb transient response. The HOP cone material combines high rigidity, low weight, and low resonance for improved transient response, higher power handling, and a smoother frequency response.
Sophisticated Speakers
With Dolby Digital, surround channels are reproduced in full stereo, with the same full frequency response and dynamic range as the front channels.
