DTS Virtual:X – surround sound, without additional speakers. The Yamaha YAS209 impresses with DTS Virtual:X technology. Virtual:X provides a sense of sound height, making effects like a helicopter flying overhead or falling rain sound more realistic than ever – without additional ceiling speakers.

Powerful bass from a wireless subwoofer. Allowing you to get the most out of an action movie or music concert, the separate subwoofer delivers a level of realism that is more hi-fi than TV. With the YAS-209, you feel explosive soundtracks and hear a whole new level of powerful sound from music concerts. Best of all, this extra power comes with very little inconvenience. The wireless subwoofer connection means there are no cables between the soundbar and the subwoofer. The subwoofer itself is compact and easy to place, requiring only a power outlet to connect and operate.

Alexa voice control. With Amazon Alexa built-in, all you have to do is ask. Useful voice control functions include changing volume levels, selecting sources, muting, and choosing streaming services such as Amazon Music. Of course, it doesn't have to be just about sound. You can also ask Alexa about the weather or set a timer.

Stream your music. Download the Yamaha Sound Bar Controller app (Apple iOS or Android) and you can stream your stored music and favorite music services like Spotify (premium account required) and Amazon Music. The app also allows you to connect to NAS (Network Attached Storage) drives on your network and stream stored music. Just connect to your network.
