Anthem P2 Statement Power Amplifier is a powerful independent “monoblock” amplifier. Each channel is housed on its own glass-epoxy circuit board and heatsink with an autonomous power supply.
There is no common audio path between channels leading to a total absence of crosstalk. The experience is seamless and exquisitely detailed with a multichannel soundstage that is surprisingly transparent, cohesive and triple dimensional.
Cascoded Feedback Stage
P2 amplifiers benefit from patented input topology in place of classical differential input stage. Eight low-noise bipolar input devices, hand-matched for optimum balance, are arranged in a complementary active-load cascoded feedback array. Heat shrink tubing around each crucial input pair ensures top thermal tracking. Designed to minimise distortion, this ensures exceptionally linear response and superior bandwidth and amplifier reliability.
Independent Power Supplies
P Series amplifiers are the cleanest, silentest amplifiers in the industry. Each amplifier channel features two separate and autonomous power supplies fed from separate transformer windings. The amplifiers deliver stable, continuous power at maximum output no matter how many channels are being driven.
While some amps tend to oscillate for lower impedance loads, P2 remains perfectly stable. If pushed into clipping, the panti-saturation tracking power supply circuit ensures a seamless recovery. Since the regulated power supply in the driver stage removes noise emitted by the bridge rectifier, P2 achieves an ultra silent noise floor.
Massive Toroidal Transformers
Moderately rated, in a low-profile design, these low-impedance toroidal power supplies do not compromise when it comes to delivering a continuous supply of pure, clean low noise power. They are shaped to reduce hum while a sequence-controlled turn on drastically reduces power line transients and current during start up preventing accidental tripping of the circuit breakers.
Fourteen Bipolar output Devices
An amplifier’s performance is directly related to the amount of premium high-current devices used in the output stage. The greater devices employed per channel, the greater the power to deliver crescendos and explosions and the amount of current held in reserve. Anthem designers incorporated fourteen bipolar output devices per channel for tremendous current held in reserve.
Hand-Designed Circuit Boards
Dual-layer military-spec (FR-4-rated) glass-epoxy circuit boards incoporate plated through-holes and 2-ounce copper traces promoting exceptional conductivity. Extensive power usage and ground planes mean exceptionally low noise and increased sheilding from stray internal or external electromagnetic energy from other devices.
"No Fuse" Design
P2 is Direct-Connected to the power supply capacitor bank keeping impedance ultra low while producing more power available to the amplifier. The result is audibly superior performance. If an output short circuits, only the AC line breaker will trip hence there are no fuses to replace. The standby low-power supply is guarded by self-resetting PTCs.
Binding Posts & Balanced Inputs
Custom-designed Oversize Gold-Plated binding posts are easy to use, guarantee full power delivery at all times and support large speaker cable connectors. A three-way switch on the rear panel provides an RCA input, pro-grade XLR balanced input and an attenuated XLR balanced connection. Gold-plated female RCA jacks and XLR balanced connections provide top quality inputs.
Oversized Aluminum Headsinks
With more than 1125 square inches of computer modeled heatsink per channel, P2 is superbly equipped to distribute the heat generated by the high power levels. This eliminates the need for noisy cooling fans. A thermal sensor on each heatsink consistently monitors safe operating temperature.

Designed and Built in North America, P2 features a fine-grain brushed aluminum cover and extruded aluminum handles. Heavy-gauge, low-resonance 12-awg steel chassis and oversize aluminum heatsinks produce mighty high-end weight and authority. Supplied with IEC AC female sockets and detachable high-power and high-quality 14-awg AC power cords.
