The iLX-705DM is an alternative version of the iLX-705D.

In this version, the 1DIN media box is attached to the upper side of the 7-inch screen and allows installation in vehicles with space restrictions in the radio dock, such as the Seat Leon.

It features a high-resolution screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, 2 USB ports, as well as a built-in Class-D amplifier and Hi-Res Audio capabilities.

7-inch HD WXGA Display

The iLX-705DM features the best 7-inch display we have ever installed in a 2DIN unit. The 7-inch HD touchscreen offers a 1280 × 720p (WXGA) resolution with stunning color vibrancy and contrast, making icons, menus, and video content on your dashboard appear sharper than ever. You’ll especially appreciate this high-resolution display when viewing small text on navigation maps and similar content.

Wireless Apple CarPlay

The iLX-705DM supports Apple CarPlay wirelessly, allowing iPhone users to make and receive calls, access and write text messages, play music, and receive navigation guidance while staying focused on the road. Apple CarPlay can be controlled via the touchscreen or by activating Siri voice control using the microphone button. Thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity, you can keep your iPhone in your pocket without constantly connecting it via cable (except for charging).

2× USB Ports

Although the iLX-705DM is a mech-less unit (no built-in CD/DVD drive), it still offers plenty of entertainment options. Two USB ports on the rear of the unit allow, for example, one mobile device to be connected for charging while the second USB port is used for a USB flash drive or hard drive, giving access to audio and video files.

Android Auto Compatibility

Android Auto allows you to use hundreds of useful smartphone apps with your Alpine system (via wired connection). Popular navigation apps such as Google Maps, Sygic, Waze, and Magic Earth are supported, among many others. Enjoy music streaming via Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer, and more, and stay connected through WhatsApp and other popular messaging apps—directly from your Alpine display.

World’s First Head Unit with Built-in Class-D Amplifier

Together with the new Alpine Halo11 and Halo9, the iLX-705DM is the world’s first aftermarket head unit featuring a built-in 4 × 50-watt Class-D amplifier, delivering excellent high-end sound quality with significantly reduced noise and phase distortion.
The main advantage of Class-D amplification technology is its high efficiency—around 90%, compared to 50–70% for Class-AB amplifiers. New high-speed fans with internal heat sinks maintain the optimal operating temperature of your Alpine head unit—so the music keeps playing.

With a 56-band parametric equalizer in advanced mode, 2-way digital crossover, 6-channel digital time correction, and several Bass Engine SQ and MediaXpander sound-tuning options, you have powerful tools to fine-tune your iLX-705DM and connected amplifiers/speaker system to perfection.
And we didn’t stop there: the iLX-705DM is Hi-Res Audio certified and can decode and play Hi-Res audio files up to 96 kHz / 1,536 kbps from USB sources in uncompressed formats such as FLAC, WAV, and APE.

Wide Entertainment Options

The brand-new DAB/radio tuner allows seamless switching between DAB and FM for uninterrupted radio reception. Combined with support for a wider range of USB video playback formats (MP4, MOV, FLV, MKV), the iLX-705DM offers extensive entertainment possibilities. An integrated Bluetooth module enables wireless audio streaming from your phone, while the HDMI input allows connection of an external video playback device.

Vehicle Data-bus Connection

If your vehicle is equipped with parking sensors, you can continue to use these convenient features with your iLX-705DM. Alpine offers a wide range of vehicle data-bus interfaces to connect your Alpine head unit to your vehicle’s data-bus system. This enables compatibility with steering-wheel controls, display of climate control settings, and parking sensor visualization.

Drive-Assist Cameras

A rear-view camera is an excellent way to make reversing safer. The camera image automatically appears when reverse gear is engaged, and adjustable distance guidelines—customizable to your vehicle’s size—are displayed on screen to assist with safe parking. Alpine offers a wide selection of front and rear cameras, including multi-view cameras with selectable viewing angles. You can even display the camera view and parking sensor screen simultaneously, if supported by your vehicle.

External Control Knob

The optional RUE-BK01 control knob is designed for use with the 2022 Halo series units but also works with the iLX-705DM (requires separate installation in the vehicle’s center console or dashboard). Rotating the knob adjusts the volume, while pressing it activates the rear-view camera display.

Note: This control knob does not function when wireless Apple CarPlay is active.

Bluetooth Hi-Res Audio Streaming
Wireless Bluetooth connection to your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled digital audio player is also possible, thanks to the built-in high-end LDAC standards. With LDAC, you can stream your audio content, including high-resolution (Hi-Res) audio, at a maximum bit rate of 990 kbps via Bluetooth. This makes this Alpine Head Unit ideal for hi-res audio and streaming services with high sound quality. The transmission bit rate is constantly adjusted with this technology to ensure a stable connection even in harsh environments, depending on the network conditions.
